ACTIVITIES AT SHADY POINT RESORT

At Shady Point Resort the water is clean. The sandy beach slopes gently out to deeper water, in a calm bay, for safe swimming and playing with your children.

The famous "Kawarthas" are one of Ontario's most beautiful regions. Large and small lakes, many connected by locks or rivers, rolling
farm lands and forest areas. Buckhorn Lake is on the Trent-Severn Waterway, midway between Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay, it's elevation is about 600 feet above Lake Ontario. Hundreds of houseboats and pleasure craft make this trip each season.

The city of Peterborough (20 minutes away) offers shopping, modern theatres, concerts, Riverview Zoo, farmers market, festival of lights, art gallery, nightly entertainment and Kawartha Racetrack slots and the
Peterborough Liftlocks. The Whetung Art Gallery showcases Canadian Indian crafts from across Canada.

Six Foot Bay Golf Course and Katchiwano Golf & Country Club are within easy driving distance (15 minutes)
The Warsaw Caves, Petroglyphs Park and Buckhorn Observatory should not be missed. The Kawarthas offers an extensive variety of eco-recreational interests such as walking, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, boating and water sports, and nature trails.
